If I do blood tests, I consistently come back with zero IgA, but my IgM is very elevated because it's trying to do the job of the IgA. Technically it's a primary immunodeficiency, (dysgammaglobulinemia janeway type B was the old "diagnosis" ...) which results in me being susceptible to anything respiratory and intestinal as well.
