At a meta level pretty much every big industry tries to obtain regulatory capture and usually does.

Big Tobacco, Big Pharma, Big Auto, Big Military ... and the list goes on.

I finally read the article and the idea of using the black market as a control is interesting and seems novel. There were other good insights to the mechanics of regulatory capture and competing interests in the whole process.

Fascinating. While i thought being a skilled grower i had the potential to enter the new regulated market i kept upto date with such things. My passion is for naturally grown outdoor. Shocked to learn here that so many black market growers are using heavy pesticides. I never used anything more then raw milk or peroxide. I would love to test for Aspergillos And would love to know where to test for it. Testing is a good thing and finding ways to make it more accessible and affordable would be great.

Curious to know if any post harvest methods can be used to sterilize and limit positive aspergillosis? Like the peroxide sodium bicarb pre drying method

I kind of thought your post was going to he about the cannabinoid testing . But happy you presented more insights on other aspects of testing that could still have similar issues. I noticed that when my flower is tested at the hydro store with light thingo it was in the 20’s% thc but when my friend who actually runs a lab tests it its more like 4% and he is telling me its some of the highest results he seen. But then he first will do an ethinol winterized extraction and test it with chromatophy with the standards . Now he is someone i trust to give me the real deal. But othets still be running with these high numbers.

Having hemp license i had a call from a lab seeking flower and talked about this same issue. He hears sbout these 10-20% cbd numbers but everything he ever tests is like 2%. So some strange game going on

I'm assuming cooking (to make oils/tinctures) the 4 deadly Aspergillus species does not kill it? In either case, all the more reason to grow our own organic cannabis and send to a lab prior to consumption. It's getting harder to trust any products purchased elsewhere, not just cannabis.

In that case it would be useful to have a low-cost high quality test available to all home growers who care about their health.

Wonder if there is a market in that? Hmmm, maybe we can convince the WHO to claim there will be a pandemic of aspergillosis infections soon.
