The lung cancer cells sure do create more cancer with tobacco smoke.

What exactly did they expect CANCER CELLS to (re) produce?

Healthy cells? I'm not sure I understand the purpose of exposing cancer cells to smoke? Better test would be to expose healthy cells and see what this produces.
